Beef Bourguignon

Beef Bourguignon

First attempt at this classic French dish. It came out fine imo ^_^ I served it over rice, because I was too lazy to make my pommes puree. I departed from the normal recipe by using a pressure cooker as I had no oven safe pot to put this stuff in. I'll come back to revisit it in the future sometime and mess around with the flavor profiles to make this simple peasant dish ungodly ^_-

The hob

Racking my brains for a subject for Week 3 (Exposure) I was in the kitchen, had not long cleaned the hob and realised that not only wat that reflective but my saucepans are as well.

So with the 3rd part of the assignment in mind - High contrast photography (bright indoor light, or bright daylight, or higly reflective subjects, I took various pictures to see if I could find one that was acceptable.

Using the camera's light meter to guide me I used f/3.2, ISO 200 with a shutter speed of 0.5 sec.

Not sure why the hoblights came out lilac - maybe I should have taken white balance off auto.

(Old) Kent County Court House

(Old) Kent County Court House

Located in East Greenwich, RI and now serves as the Town Hall. It served as the Kent County Court House from its erection in 1804 to 1978. There was one other "courthouse" between this one and the present one.

RI counties exist basically for geographical reasons, they have no governmental duties. There is no county commission, tax assessor, probate judge, etc. Government lies at the local town level.

Cornflower Blue Dutch Oven

Cornflower Blue Dutch Oven

I nearly toppled over when I saw this. It's much more than I would pay for any cookware at a thrift store, but my boyfriend insisted, knowing I'd find *plenty* of cooking uses for it. This is P-34-B, 4 quarts, and it says Dutch Oven.

I paid (or rather my boyfriend paid): $10.80.
